Our Mission &
Vision
The mission of Salem Church is to love God, to love others, and to magnify the name of Jesus Christ. The vision of our church is to glorify our God and Savior, Jesus Christ, to make true disciples throughout all the nations by means of missionary activity and support, to minister the ordinances, to edify believers, and to do all that is sovereignly possible and biblically permissible to magnify the name of Jesus. Leadership Team: Our leadership team recognizes the authority of God, and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip the believers for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ.

We believe in the Trinity of God the Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.
God
• Created the world and everything in it
• Is the sovereign ruler of the universe
• Is loving and that all may experience God’s love and grace
Jesus
• Was human, lived as a man, and died when he was crucified
• Is the divine Son of God
• Was raised from the dead by God and this risen Christ lives today
• Is our Savior. In Christ we receive abundant life and forgiveness of sins
• Is our Lord. We are called to pattern our lives after his
The Holy Spirit
• We believe that the Holy Spirit is God with us.
• We believe that the Holy Spirit comforts us when we are in need and convicts us when we stray from God.
• We believe that the Holy Spirit awakens us to God’s will and empowers us to live obediently.
Human Beings
• Are created in God’s image
• Can choose to accept or reject a relationship with God
• Need to be in relationship with God in order to be fully human
The Church
• Is the body of Christ, an extension of Christ’s life and ministry in the world today.
• Has the mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ.
• Is “the communion of saints,” a community made up of all past, present, and future disciples of Christ.
• Is called to worship God and to support those who participate in its life as they grow in faith.
The Bible
• Is God’s Word
• Is the primary authority for our faith and practice
• Both Old Testament and New Testament, should be read and studied by all Christians
Sacraments
Baptism
• Joins us with the church and with Christians everywhere
• Is a symbol of new life and a sign of God’s love and forgiveness of our sins
• Can be experienced by people of any age
• Is received by a person only once in his or her life.
• Of infants is a sprinkling of water or oil and is a dedication by parents to raise these infants in a Christian
way
The Lord’s Supper (Communion, Eucharist)
• Is a holy meal of bread and wine that symbolizes the body and blood of Christ
• Recalls the life, death and resurrection of Jesus and celebrates the unity of all the members of God’s family.
• Offers us an opportunity to give thanks for Christ’s sacrifice, and we are nourished and empowered to go into
the world in mission and ministry
• Is “open Communion,” welcoming all who love Christ, repent of their sin, and seek to live in peace with one
another
